Mrs. Stern was born in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Tilden High School. She was married for 51 years to Martin Stern, who retired from the New York City Police Department as a lieutenant. They lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island before moving to Acworth almost 30 years ago. Mr. Stern died in 2012.
Mrs. Stern was a dedicated mother to her two children, Gary and Mindy, and devoted grandmother to her two grandsons, Raymond and Henry. She made friends wherever she went and had a close group of friends in Acworth who became part of her family. She talked often about her family to her friends and about her friends to her family.
She was a sharp dresser who never left home without the right shoes and bag or without her hair and makeup being just as she liked it. Together with her husband, Mrs. Stern loved going out with friends, traveling the world, going to shows, and spending time with her beloved family, whether in person or on FaceTime.
Mrs. Stern spent her final days at Wellcore Hospice Care in Marietta, where she received wonderful care and was surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Stern was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Stern, and is survived by her daughter, Mindy Stern (Steve Friedson); son, Gary Stern (Anne); and grandsons, Raymond and Henry Stern.
