Bob you possessed unimpeachable character and impeccable integrity. You loved your country and were a military Hero. We enjoyed our golf and bridge games over about 25 years together. You loved your family; you were most generous and kind in providing transportation for several of your elder bridge players. You had a gift for helping others. You were our friend. Braswell Deen

What a super person Mr. Pennock and Jean. My husband  Jim Compton
and I were invited to spend the night at their home on our first vacation as husband and wife. When we left.  Jean packed us a lovely basket of goodies, vidalia onions, fruit and veggies. Will never forget in my whole life.

Bob was a very special person that words cannot justly describe - a top drawer gentleman who was humbly gracious and kind to everyone - always asking about and offering help to others in many different ways. 
Not mentioned in the obituary regarding his WW II  Pacific Theatre service as gunner on a TBF - Avenger torpedo bomber aboard the aircraft carrier USS Princeton (CVL - 23) was that because of his height there was not room for him to wear a parachute. He never received official credit for downing a Japanese Zero - however his sqadron leader pilot thought so highly of his gunnery skills that he later insisted Bob go with him to Florida to train other servicemen for the war effort. Bob once mentioned that in June 1944 shortly after takeoff near Hawaii that he observed ships "as far as the eve could see" - a vivid eyewitness account of the magnitude of our naval forces during the last phase of WW II.
