Robert C. Spreng, age 81, of Marietta, GA (formerly of St. Paul, MN) died peacefully at home on December 9th, 2011 surrounded by lots of love, laughter, family and friends. Bob was born in Perrysburg, OH and spent nearly 30 years as a Marketing Executive with 3M. He stayed very active in “retirement” as a Consultant for the Pentagon, a Broker in the family real estate business and wrote and published 21 children’s short stories. Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Merrill, children David (Debra) Spreng, Kevin (Denise) Spreng, Shelley (Jonathan) Dombek, Cathy (Wayne) Dale, Abbe Shapiro, Jon Shapiro (Dennis Selva) and Grandchildren Jenny (Jammy), Ryan, Lori, David, Sophie, Jack, Collin, Emma, Sam, Sarah, Madison, Chloe, Elsie, Audrey, Aydan, Owen and Lexie and special loved-ones Cathy Shapiro, Marian Ely, Jim and Pat Eddelmon and Howie and Evie Roseff. Funeral service for Robert Spreng will be held Sunday, December 11th, 2pm at Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road. Viewing will be from 1pm until 2pm preceding the service.
