Stuart Myles Kramer, born August 8th 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed-away peacefully at his home in Marietta, Ga on January 27th, 2021. Stuart is survived by his wife, Maria Kramer; his two children, Bonnie Olson and Zachary Kramer; his grandchildren, Jordan Olson, Madeline Kramer, Anna Kramer, and Adin Kramer; his brother, Fred Kramer; his nephews Benjamin and Joshua Kramer; his stepchildren, Benjamin, Carolina, and Patricia; and his step-grandchildren, Sebastian, Paula, Valentina, Martin, Alejandro, Benjamin, and Kylie.
Stuart graduated from Philadelphia’s Olney High School in 1956, and subsequently served in the United States Air Force, where he worked on maintaining America’s early nuclear-armed intercontinental strategic bomber fleet. After honorably serving from 1956 to 1960, Stuart subsequently attended Georgia State University, earning from that same institution both a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Affairs and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Stuart’s Jewish faith guided him throughout his life, and he applied its principles to matters both personal and professional.
Stuart retired from a long career in Georgia state government in 1999, where he worked within the management and administration levels to improve the lives of Georgians with special needs, and where he endeavored to ensure the smooth operation of state government departments such as the then-named Georgia Merit System, and the Georgia Departments of Corrections and Juvenile Justice.
Stuart had a passion for photography, and for years ran the small photography business “Vida Photographics,” with his beloved wife Maria, whom he lovingly called “Vida,” meaning “life” in Spanish. His interest in model railroading was also renowned, and Stuart personally assembled very detailed HO-scale railroad layouts and truly loved the hobby.
Stuart Myles Kramer will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all that have had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Remembrance Service for Stuart will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia, on February 9th at 2:00 PM. Please contact Arlington or the family for more specifics.
