Ginger was a dear friend for over sixty years.  She was the most loving, sweet and kind lady I have ever known and I loved her dearly.  I was so blessed to get a great visit with her not long before she passed away--she knew me and we had a great visit--I talked of things of years ago and she smiled and I got a chuckle from her.  I flew from Kyle, Texas when the weather was very bad but I went anyway--Perfect timing for the two of us.  I will miss her so much.  She was a special Southern Belle and I was so blessed to have her in my life for so many years.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Although I didn't know her, my time working at SIU was a pleasure, as you and your sweet Dad always treated me and my late mother, Judy Garrett, with kindness and warmth.

I learned a lot from Mr and Mrs Duesenberg. I have known them for almost 40 years. Every conversation was pleasant, exhilarating and mostly fun. They raised a great family. That, as a legacy, says volumes about the quality of both of them. "Ginger" and "Senior" were both distinctive people in their own right. I find it hard to write about Mrs. Duesenberg alone because she always referred to her partner and friend. I had such a strong sense that they were always together although it was clear who the boss was.
I will miss Mrs. Duesenberg (I call her that out of tremendous respect) for the rest of my life. I already miss the uplifting chats. I won't be foolish enough to try to assuage and beguile the family from their grief. I leave you to rejoice in what a great experience you surely had as her progeny and rejoice in all the truly great memories.
