Patrick Brendan O’Halloran passed away peacefully on May 12, 2019 at UF Shands Vascular Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, surrounded by his family. Brendan was born on March 27, 1941, in San Francisco to Katherine Stack O’Halloran and Joseph Patrick O’Halloran. After nearly 37 years in the Bay area, he lived a couple of years in Creve Coeur, Missouri, before moving to Coral Springs, Florida in 1980. He retired in Sanford, Florida in 2014.
Brendan graduated high school from Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory School in San Francisco and continued on to receive a B.A. degree from San Francisco State University. Following school, Brendan was drafted into the US Army where he served two proud years, followed by a long career in the insurance industry. Brendan enjoyed life to the fullest, was a passionate reader and history buff, a fan of classic cars and music, coached both kids’ soccer teams and was an avid football fan.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Maylian Mersereau (Goodman) O’Halloran; his loving children, daughter Erin O’Halloran Kurinsky (Jerry Daniel) of Katy, Texas and son Kevin Brendan O’Halloran of Lake Mary. He is also survived by his grandson Jerry Brendan Kurinsky, and many other loved family and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 18th, at the All Souls Catholic Church - Historic Chapel, located at 800 S. Oak Street, Sanford, FL 32771 followed by the committal at Oaklawn Park Cemetery, located at 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL 32771. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project.
