He was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico on October 29,1943. He graduated from the School of Art and Design. Gilbert married Carmen Ramirez on June 17, 1967. Gilbert worked for the United States Postal Service and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and Risen Savior Lutheran Church. He had a passion for his church and enjoyed woodworking, art, and painting.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Toletina Ramirez and his brother, Felix Del Toro.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Ramirez; children, Richard, Edward, Ray and Jessica Ramirez; siblings, Raymond Antonio Ramirez, Albert Garcia Ramirez, Francis M. Ramirez, Ana Ramirez Ayala,and Joseph L. Ramirez.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, located at 1331 S Alafaya Trail #2, Orlando, FL 32828. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment with military honors will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Co Rd 46A, Lake Mary, FL 32746 following the funeral service.
