James Winford Downer, 77, of Sanford, Florida passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, November 26, 2015. James was born July 11, 1938 in Summerville, GA to his loving parents Albert and Hattie Downer. James was predeceased by his parents and his sister Wanda. He is survived by his wife Thelma Teresa Flowers, his son Scott (Elizabeth) Downer, grandsons Chris (Chanthara) Downer and David (Diane) Downer, five great-grandchildren – Dominic, Haylee, Donovan, Rylee and Dylan, his brothers Richard, Lamar and Roy and his sisters Edith, Elizabeth and Martha . James will also be remembered by his numerous friends and loved ones. James was known for being a hard-working man. The only thing he loved more than working was fishing. The family has planned a Visitation for Monday, November 30, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm. A Funeral Service is planned for Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10am with a Committal Service at Oaklawn Cemetery to immediately follow. All services are under the supervision of Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.
