Jan Wesley Shaver, age 70, of Sanford, Florida passed away on Monday March 18, 2019. Jan was born November 30, 1948 in Salina, Kansas to the late Jon and Loretta Shaver. He graduated from Colonial High School before answering the call to serve his country proudly as a United States Marine. Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps. Jan married the love of his life, Cheryl. Together they had 2 sons and settled in Sanford, FL in 1973. Jan was the owner/operator of Tri-County Fire Equipment, operating the business until his passing. He was an active member of the Sanford Moose Lodge, the American Legion and All Souls Catholic Church. Jan also loved to play Texas Hold-Em and Billiards and loved his music, so much so that on the way to the hospital they brought along his favorite music and jammed out all the way to the hospital. He was an umpire for the local Little League for over 30 years. Jan loved to cook and he loved his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jan is survived by his wife, Cheryl L. Shaver; son Sean Shaver. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob, Jordan and Kristalyn and his 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Jan was preceded in death by son James Shaver. The Mass of Christian Burial for Jan will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at All Souls Catholic Church - Historic Chapel, 800 S Oak Ave, Sanford, FL 32771. A committal will occur Monday, March 25, 2019 at 12:30 PM at All Souls Catholic Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will occur Monday, March 25, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sanford Moose Lodge, 2660 S Palmetto Ave, Sanford, FL 32771.
