Joe passed away surrounded by his loved ones on December 17, 2023, after a nine-month battle with Cancer. Joe spent his early days in Long Island, New York and then his family relocated to Altamonte Springs, Florida, where he would ultimately graduate from Lyman High School. He eventually married and had Jessica and Joey, his two amazing kids that were everything to him. As he would mention every chance, he could how much he loved being a “Dad!” Joe was a very hard worker and would put his all into his plumbing company. The most recent Gioia Plumbing was a testament to the family business. Joe loved working side by side with his Dad, Mom, sister and Best Friend Mark on an everyday basis.
Joe went on to marry Lisa Teston and was a devoted husband. The blended family they created quickly became his pride and joy and allowed him to become a stepfather to John and McKenna. Joe was a constant in all our lives. He was a selfless, committed, loving man to all that knew him. Joe had so many contributions to his community but was most well-known for his coaching and his ability to become so impactful on all those he knew. The most beautiful thing Joe could pass on would be to effortlessly love and value family the way he did.
Joe is survived by his wife, Lisa, his children Jessica and Joey, stepchildren John and McKenna. His loving parents, Gary and Jo-Ann, sisters Jamie and Niquita. Alongside his many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and Friends.
A celebration of life service for Joseph will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771, followed by a reception at 3:30 PM.
