

Joyce Florene (Munden) Baker (89) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2016. She was born in Inglis, FL on June 3, 1927 to the late Ester Munden and Mary Beatrice (Stephens) Munden. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles David Baker, Sr; grandson Arlis Steven Hickson; two sisters Esther Louvinia (Munden) Brown and Minnie (Munden) Holtzclaw. She moved to Sanford, FL from Williston, FL in 1950 where she worked in various jobs outside the home. In 1961 she started working for the Seminole County School Board as a school bus driver which she enjoyed very much for 31 years until she retired in 1992. After living 50 years in Sanford she moved with her husband to Deltona, FL in 2000 where after a long illness he passed away that same year. She loved to go fishing and travel whenever she was able to but her greatest love, next to her family, was working in her yard to make beautiful flowers, plants and a few vegetables grow. She was a member of Gracepoint Nazarene Church. Survivors include: 9 children, Sandi Dawson, Jim/Buck Baker (Stephani), Pat Barnett (Pete), Betty Baker, Charlene Cagle (Bill), David Baker (Carolyn), Debbie Baker, Bob Baker (Novelena), and Mike Baker (Laura); 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren…..plus 10 bonus-grandchildren, and 20 bonus-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Lex Munden (Jean); and 5 sisters, Betty Desch (Hugo), Geraldine Raulerson, Kay Moreau (Chuck), Christine Carr, Dale Dees and many many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel on Tuesday June 28, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Thomas officiating. Committal service following for family at Oakland Memorial Park Cemetery on 46A and Rinehart Road, in Sanford, FL.
