Michael James Mallory, 75, of Lake Mary, Florida, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 while battling late-stage kidney cancer. He was born in Denver, Colorado on May 31, 1948, but his family relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida shortly after his birth. Michael graduated from Father Lopez High School and received an Associate of Science degree from Daytona Beach Community College (now Daytona State College). He also studied at the University of Central Florida. Michael married the former Yolanda Kay Frye on May 20, 1972, and they raised their family in Seminole County. Since 1978, Michael was the founder and CEO of Lake Mary-based AutoPower Corporation, a software solutions provider for the aftermarket distribution and service industry. In his spare time, he often loved to paint. Michael had a passion for art and nature and painted countless canvases capturing his love for the two. He also enjoyed traveling, skiing, sailing, relaxing at the beach and, most importantly, spending time with his beloved family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Carolyn (English) Mallory, and grandson Eli Mallory. He is survived by his wife Yolanda, daughter Meredith Mallory and son Chris (Wendy) Mallory; his grandchildren Mallory and Jackson Thibeault, and Reagan, Peyton and Kenan Mallory; his brothers James Jr. (Trish), Paul (Shellie) and David (Claudia), and sisters Carol (Harold) Bennett, Theresa Malecki and Louise (Joe) Goodson; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral arrangements will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford, Florida.
The family will host a celebration of life service at 5:30 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771. Following the service, the family will host a reception for family and guests at the funeral home.
