Ryan grew up with a deep love for sports, competition, and camaraderie. He graduated from Deer Isle-Stonington Junior-Senior High School in 1995, where he distinguished himself as a three-sport athlete in soccer, basketball, and baseball. Beyond athletics, he was also a member of the chess team and was honored as junior prom king—recognition of both his intellect and the genuine way he connected with others.
Following high school, Ryan attended Dean College, where he continued his baseball career and earned an associate’s degree in business in 1997. He went on to attend the University of Central Florida, graduating in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Ryan built a successful and respected career in medical and orthopedic sales, known for his dedication, leadership, and ability to build lasting relationships. He most recently served as Regional Sales Manager for OrthoFix in the Florida market, a role he held for the past 10 years. In recognition of his outstanding performance and leadership, he was honored as Area Sales Manager of the Year in February 2026.
Prior to his time at OrthoFix, Ryan worked as a Senior Territory Manager in Spine and Trauma with Zimmer Biomet for seven years. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior BioSTEM Specialist for five years. He began his professional journey with Charles Schwab and the RDV Sportsplex, laying the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and achievement.
Above all, Ryan was a devoted father and partner. Shaw was always on his “Dada’s” mind. Shaw adored his “Dada” beyond measure, and he will be missed more deeply than words can express. The love they shared will live on in the memories.
Ryan loved the ocean and cherished the time he spent in Maine. Many of his happiest moments were spent “hauling his pots” with his dad, enjoying lobster, and playing golf with family and friends.
Ryan is survived by his beloved son, Shaw Douglas John Jones; his fiancée, Kimberly Yurchick; his parents, John and Barbara (Haskell) Jones, and Vernon and Sandra (Joyce) Seile; his sisters, Nicole (Kathy) Bolduc, Emmi (Mike) Wilson, Marcie Ellis-Butkovic, Jennifer Seile, and Heather (Brian) Bartlett; his brothers, Scott (Karen) Seile and Jeff (Karla) Hutchinson; his nephews, Isaac Ryan Bolduc, Finnan Gilmore, and Kyle (Morgan) Seile; his nieces, Megan (Kyle) Leslie, Ella Ellis Daley, and Mercedes (Kegin) Schoppee; his aunts, Ann (Robert) Finocchiaro, Norma (Wilbert) Morey, and Barbette LeClair; his uncle, Frank (Terri-Lee) Jones; as well as several special cousins and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Kenneth and Marie Jones and Percy and Marjorie Joyce; his nephew, Cameron Seile; and his beloved dog, Birdie Marie.
Ryan will be remembered for his competitive spirit, his warmth, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Shaw Jones College Fund, 25 Church Street, Deer Isle, Maine 04627.
A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held this summer in Maine, with details to be announced.
