Agustín D. Rivera, 85, nativo de Torreón Coahuila y le sobreviven su querida esposa por 69 años, Victoria Rivera y sus once hijos, Alfonso, Maria de los Ángeles, Esperanza, Agustín, Julia, Ana Berta, José Manuel, Maria Concepción, Enrique, Alejandra y Juan Rivera. Y su hermano Pedro Rivera. Y buena cantidad de nietos y varios bisnietos.
Agustín fue un hombre con dignidad, una persona de calidad. Su niñez, como muchos de su época y localidad, no fue fácil. Quizás ayudo a formar la persona que se convirtió. Una persona que dio supremo cuidado y atención a su familia.
Con la asistencia de su hijo mayor emigró a Santa Ana, California en 1974. Al corto tiempo, con excepción de sus dos hijas ya casadas, traslada el resto de su familia para con él. Viviendo el resto de su vida en esta ciudad y cuidando de su familia.
Su educación escolar no paso de primaria en Torreón, pero nunca dejo de aprender. Siempre lo podían encontrar con libro en mano y leyendo. De varias literaturas y especialmente lectura en el lenguaje de inglés. Ver noticiero o leerlo fue muy importante para él. Le gustaba saber de lo que estaba sucediendo local, estatal, nacional e internacionalmente. Les dejaba saber, como va a progresar si no sabe lo que está pasando en el mundo. Al igual que le gustaba aprender y progresar, te impulsaba a hacer lo mismo. En ocasión te pedía ayuda en un trabajo que él estuviera haciendo, más que nada para darte la oportunidad que tu aprendieras de él.
Agustín, un hombre de carisma, humor y presencia. Era fácil de gustar y admirar. Siempre hablaba con consideración y respeto de con quien tenía conversación. Sabia expresar sus ideas, hacerte pensar en su filosofía. Su humor fuese sutil. Sin mucha expresión te hacia reír. Aunque a veces hacía que se rieran de ti, pero nunca con mala intención, solo de sonreír en unidad. Cuidaba de su apariencia. Humilde y con presencia.
