Anna Alexandra Deligianni was born in Braila, Romania to Rev. Alexander and Lucretia. After escaping communism, the family moved to Greece when Anna was just 11 years old. They lived on the beautiful Greek islands for 5 years, until the family decided that the United States of America was the land of opportunity. Anna went to high school and university in Oklahoma City, Ok. What she cherished most about Oklahoma were the friendly people and the friendships she made there.
After finishing her teaching credential, Anna got a job teaching French in Moore, Ok. About two years into her career, the family made a move to California, where Anna got hired to teach (first French, then English) in the Whittier Union High School District for 36 years.
Outside of her profession, Anna was a dedicated church volunteer for over 30 years. She served in various roles, including music director, organist, and translator for the many bilingual services.
In her free time, Anna enjoyed going places with her daughter and family. We have many family memories of mini-vacations to the mountains, Solvang, Cambria, or San Diego, or day-trips to Newport Beach or Disneyland.
Anna leaves behind her daughter, Alexia, son-in-law, Mike, brother Emmanuel, and her nephews Alex, Theo, Emmanuel, Joseph, John, and her grand-nephews.
