

Charlotte Ann Young, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on April 26, 2018, just thirty four days before her 76th birthday. She was born to Leon and Lena Hopper on May 30, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was their only child. Her father and mother have preceded her in death. She moved to California at an early age and attended elementary school in San Bernardino, California, High school in Orange, California, and Collage at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. She was an advance student graduating High school in 3 ½ years and enrolling in Collage while still very young. Charlotte later married, Cecil L. Young, on June 9, 1967, and had recently celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband, son, Scott, daughter, Cheryl and her husband’s son, Wayne. Her grandchildren are Nicole, Shannon, Zachary and Jack. Charlotte outlived a son, Steven, and another husband’s son, Russell, Charlotte survived breast cancer, and was an active member in a subsidiary organization of the American Cancer Society know as, High Priority. She concluded her ten year service to that subsidiary organization by helping wind down its operations. During her tenure, she became chairwoman for the charitable organization’s annual fund raising golf torment, and was the organization’s final President. Therefore, memorial donations in memory of Charlotte may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. Besides being active with a women’s breast cancer organization, Charlotte earlier had been the Player Representative in the Sunrise Little League in Orange, California. She joined her husband’s CPA practice in 1972 and was secretary, bookkeeper and payroll tax consultant for 43 years before developing dementia symptoms. For the past year, Charlotte’s non-alcoholic cirrhosis and dementia had gotten worse, both of which contributed to her death. Charlotte was an avid reader, love movies and thoroughly enjoyed arts and crafts as a hobby. She pursued stamping by making holiday, birthday and other occasion cards for family and friends. She even sent her grandchildren homemade cards, almost weekly, to let them know that she was thinking of them. Her friends thought of her as a sweet, considerate caring person, and a lady that loved her family. Her clients thought she was great to work with. This loving, caring and exceptional woman will be greatly missed by family and friends, who loved her dearly.
