June 28, 1930 – June 8, 2025
Dean William Henry Dammann passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, just shy of his 95th birthday. A dedicated educator, beloved husband, father, and lifelong servant of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Dean lived with purpose, faith, and deep love for his family.
Born in Beatrice, Nebraska, Dean was the eldest of four siblings and the cherished son of William and Martha Dammann. He was called to ministry from a young age and went on to attend Concordia University in Seward, NE, where he met and married the love of his life, Delores “Lorrie” Wolf. Together, they raised two children and served in Lutheran schools and church leadership across Texas, Missouri, and California.
Dean’s career in Lutheran education spanned over four decades, culminating in his role as Education Executive for the Pacific Southwest District. He was honored with a Doctor of Letters from Concordia University in 1983 and remained active in his faith and family life well into his 90s.
He is survived by his children Mike Dammann, Barbara West, Dede Dammann, and Amy Moore, along with many beloved extended family members. He is with Jesus and united with Lorrie in heaven.
Dean will be remembered for his kindness, humility, devotion to Christ, and the many lives he touched through education and leadership.
