The eldest of her siblings, Donna was a born leader. She loved her siblings Mark, Lisa, George, Teresa, Erina, and Bobby deeply. She is survived by her father George and stepmother Diane, and was preceded in death by her mother Loretta and her stepfather Craig.
She was a performer and a goofball, from starring onstage in Our Town in high school to recording a song for Doctor Demento. She was a voracious reader and writer, dabbling in journalism and even writing a novel. She loved mystery and horror TV shows and movies and her quick brain was always 10 steps ahead solving a puzzle.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Daniel Meyers. Together they went on countless cruises and vacations, and renewed their wedding vows 7 times. She is survived by two of her children, Joe Bartley and his wife Jamie, and Charlie (Lisa) Meyers and their partner James. She was preceded in death in 2010 by her son Monte Bartley. She loved her grandchildren Alexia, Logan, and Wyatt and got incredible joy out of being a mom and grandma.
She was the life of any party, and hosted birthdays and holidays like no one else. Whether it was a huge family Christmas or a Rocky Horror themed Halloween party, she relished in good food, good music, and family. She worked in the printing business, and connected with clients like they were family, combining skilled business sense with endless empathy.
She fought a tough diagnosis with humor, kindness, and love. She walked as a survivor with the Boobie Brigade at the Susan Komen Race for the Cure, proudly wearing beads for the years she kicked cancer’s butt. She would love friends and family to continue donating to Komen, to pave the way for other warriors to keep surviving.
In the words of her beloved musical RENT, she knew we had “no day but today” and she lived each day with that philosophy. She measured her life in love. We have all been touched by her love and her unforgettable spirit.
