Inez Stansbury was born October 3, 1935 to the late Robert Pendleton and Fannie Bush Pendleton in Union Springs, Alabama. At the age of 12 she moved to Springfield, Massachusetts to live with her father. There she met and married Donald Edwin Stansbury, a Sergeant in the Air Force, who was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. A few years later, they settled in Santa Ana, California. Inez was a 60-year resident of Santa Ana.
Inez had a full life. As someone who was characterized as thoughtful, caring and compassionate, nursing was an obvious career for her. After she received her nursing certificate, she worked and retired from UC Irvine Medical Center in 1994. She loved bowling, photography, sewing, the Angels and Lakers, and was fond of making carrot cake for birthdays. She continued to work registry until 2002, when she began devoting more time to her church activities. She made many friends during her long life, many thought of her as a sister.
With Don, Inez raised Elizabeth Ann, Donald (deceased), Deborah, Robert and Edwin. She leaves grandchildren Kimberly, David, Matthew, Donald Duran, Lonnie Allan, Lucritia, Rachel, Brittney, Regina, Darnell, Kaelynn, Edgerrin and 15 great-grandchildren.
Inez went peacefully in her sleep on July 9, 2019 when she passed into the loving care of our Lord.
