Jack Jay Larson of Orange, CA had a wonderful life. Jack was born on July 27, 1936, in Knoxville, Iowa. At the age of 25 he met the love of his life Judith K Larson in Waterloo, Iowa and they moved to Orange County California where they were married. Together they enjoyed raising their 3 daughters. Jack struggled with the loss of Judi since her passing in May 2022.
Jack was a kind, fair, and thoughtful man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sister Martha Kuhlman, his three daughters, Janel Meric, Jeanette Mannion, and Jill Doss, and his grandchildren, Kelly Meric, Carl Garrison, Patrick Mannion, Anthony Mannion, Kaylee Mannion, and Dustin Doss, as well as his step-granddaughter Megan Saavedra and her newborn son Leo.
Jack excelled as an Engineer in Mission Support for The Shuttle Program at Rockwell International/Boeing for 35 years. He was highly respected by his colleagues and made significant contributions to the aerospace industry.
Spending time with his family brought Jack immense joy. Jack was an active member of the Elks Lodge in Orange, CA, and he enjoyed playing poker with his friends. In his younger days he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Helping each of his daughters build and race award-winning Soap Box Derby cars in their teens was a labor of love.
Jack passed away in his home at age 86 on June 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife Judith K Larson, brother Charles Herbert Larson, and parents Herbert J Larson and Olive Ruth Larson.
A memorial service will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary to honor Jack's life and legacy. May he rest in peace.
