Janet Christine Soares-Bean

Janet Christine Soares-Bean was born on June 19, 1972 in Hanford, California and passed on November 27, 2020 in Garden Grove, California. Janet grew up in Lemoore, California. She graduated from Riverdale High School and received her bachelors and masters degrees from USC. She worked as an occupational therapist and served hundreds of kids with disabilities. She also helped to educate these children's parents how to support their kids through their disabilities. Janet had a servant’s heart for Jesus. She loved serving children, mothers and people. Janet was involved in MOMs (Making Our Mothering Significant) and First Step (Ministry for young families). She loved gardening, reading, caring for her kids, taking care of her home and supporting causes such as Food for the Poor and World Vision. Janet even went to Haiti on a mission trip even when she was fighting cancer.

Janet married Stefan Bean on May 20, 2000 and together they have four beautiful children, Sophia Amelia, Samuel and Gabriella. Janet and Stefan met at USC while working together at the campus fitness center. A cherished memory of Janet’s was from their first official date. Janet and Stefan went on a picnic at the Kern River. While they were enjoying their picnic lunch and each other’s company, Stefan's wheelchair rolled down the bank and fell in the river. As the current was taking the wheelchair with it, Janet immediately got up and jumped into to the river to fish out the wheelchair. Chest deep in water she managed to pull it out. Stefan thought if a woman could sacrifice herself without giving it any thought, than that was the woman to marry.

Janet is proceeded in death by her father, Antonio Soares and mother, Maria Soares. She is survived by her loving husband, Stefan Bean, daughters, Sophia, Amelia and Gabriella and her son, Samuel. She is also survived by her siblings, Tony Soares, Lucy Coykendall, Tricia Soares, and Mark Soares.
