

John Joseph Couts, a faithful man, met his Lord, family and friends in Heaven on December 20th, 2018, he went peacefully at home, at the age of 90. John was born on February 26th, 1928 to Mary Grace (Chism) and John Monroe Couts in Wildomar, CA. John graduated from Elsinore High School lettering in many sports; Track (with records in high hurdles), basketball and baseball. He was an amazing trick diver and also played the trumpet. He attended Southern California Bible College (Vanguard University).
John met his wife and soulmate, Demarias (DeeDee) Cowden at a church convention. They were married on August 15th, 1950 in San Bernardino, California where they made their home and raised their three Children. He is known by many for managing Little League and Pony League Baseball for 13 years.
Starting at age 14, John worked at Gunther Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. At the age of 24 he joined the Sheet Metal Workers Trade where he worked as an accomplished foreman for many years until 1978 when he, together with his son, John started Couts Heating & Cooling, Inc. where he helped build a very successful company until he retired in 1992. During his retirement they volunteered for 10 years with MAPS, a ministry helping to remodel and build churches.
The presence of John will continue to be felt in many places...Church, fishing, boating, Angel games, on the dance floor, catching a baseball, Car Shows, Long Fin, 1937 Willies, garage saleing, USC Football, handmade doll houses & fishing lures, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, bottle digging and songs sung to his grandbabies “Them Bones” and “ Down by The Station”. Cherished memories of his witty sense of humor, can do attitude, his love and genuine care for all who knew him will live in our hearts forever.
John is survived by his loving wife Demarias of 68 years; his son John Couts (Carolyn); daughters Nancy Keller (Marvin) and Kimberlee Couts/Hanson; eight Grandchildren, Danelle, Kellie, Ryan, Kristina, Tyler, Brittany, Chelsey and Bryce; ten Great Grandbabies, Shane, Emerie, Parker, Kelsey, Mila, Cooper, Betty, Carter, Asher and Penelope. Predeceased by sisters, Lucy Leon and Betty Allen. John is also survived by his dog "Bridget", a loving companion, never leaving his side for the last 12 years of his life.
