I grew up with Carlos and I’m so sad to hear of his passing. He was always such a fun kid and we had so many fun times growing up on Aspen st in FV. I remember how he could pop a wheeley on his bike and ride it around the block 3-4 times. He always was so agile and had such great balance. No surprise he became a great jockey. Loved him so much. Won the derby for us in Beaver.  Checked on him when he got hurt in Beaver.  Said “you can’t keep me down”.  And it didn’t for a long time.💕

For J.C.

I will always remember the day I met J.C. at Belmont Park in the early 80's. I galloped horses and JC was galloping and riding races! Every single morning when any of us saw J.C. on the track he always greeted us and reached out and said 'Hey Good Morning'. How's your day going so far? Just such a nice positive guy! Always had a smile on his face always smiling! Always friendly to everyone! He was also a great Jockey! I Watched him ride every chance I got.. 

I was so saddened to hear the news of his passing. I will miss you J.C. I will miss our early morning friendly exchange on horseback. I will miss your 'Good Morning's' and How are you today' and 'Hey I got a winner today' You will always be a winner. Keep looking down on your family and friends from the big racetrack in the sky! We will all miss you especially that huge  smile of yours! Liz...
