It is with the heaviest of hearts and sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Peter King, age 55 on October 5th, 2020 at his home in Santa Ana. Kenneth was born in Columbus, Ohio and was the beloved younger brother of Kevin residing in Anaheim, CA and Keith of Long Island, NY. He is survived by his brothers, his only son Jacob Warren of Boise, Idaho and his 3 grandchildren.
Kenneth was immensely proud of his Ohio roots, but lived many places as a child growing up. Born into a military family, he spent time in England, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Hawaii before making California his home, which now will be his resting place. Most of his schooling took place in California and he graduated from El Modena High School. It was here that lifelong friendships would be created and flourish for over 45 years.
Over the years, Kenneth worked in various fields from fast food, delivery truck, telemarketing, and finally settled in the traffic industry performing customer service duties. He was an amazing customer service representative with a keen memory, product knowledge, and his always positive attitude. Everyone would ask for “Kenny” and he never forgot a face.
As his fight against diabetes continued, Kenneth was forced into early retirement disability, but he never stopped his helpful ways. Even losing a leg to this disease, he maintained his positive outlook on life. He was always looking for ways to bring joy to others and to be of some help or assistance to them.
He had a passion for most all sports and followed them fervently. Football, Hockey, Soccer, Baseball, Water Polo, he loved them all. Another of his hobbies was participating in Chili Cook Off competitions, even winning a national title one year. He was nothing short of famous among his friends, of which there are many.
Kenneth left his fingerprints on countless hearts with his love, laughter, kindness, and his very quick wit. He was just the best. If you were lucky enough to know him then you were lucky to have loved him.
He will always be remembered for his signature sign off and he never failed to say it when saying goodbye.
Bye now, “give a shout if you need anything”. Once in awhile you might hear “give a holler” but the “if you need anything” message was cast in stone.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
Isaiah 41:13
