

Marcia K. Young, 78, of Orange, California passed away of pulmonary complications on May 15, 2017 after a short hospitalization. She was born in 1939 to the late Floyd and Ruby Dunk. Although Marcia was born in South Bend, IN and lived for a short time in St. Louis, MO as a child before her family moved to Ohio, she was a Buckeye to the end. She attended high schools in Columbus and Lakewood, OH before attending The Ohio State University. While at OSU, she pledged with Alpha Chi Omega and was a lifelong supporter of the sorority. In 1962, Marcia married Cameron Young and resided in Columbus, OH, where her two daughters were born. After Ohio, the family made homes in various states until Marcia and Cam settled in Southern California in 1994. Marcia was a real estate broker for forty years, starting her career in Pennsylvania in 1977. She also held various retail jobs throughout the years. Marcia is survived by two daughters: Michele Young of Orange, CA and Katy (Eric) Allen of Hoffman Estates, IL. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Emily and May Allen. Marcia was predeceased by her husband Cameron in 2006 and her older brother, Donald, in 1996. A graveside memorial service is scheduled for Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Lakewood Park Cemetery, 22025 Detroit Road, Rocky River, OH. Marcia will be interred next to Cameron and close to her brother and parents In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
