Marie Gladys Berger

February 19, 1942 – February 14, 2026

Marie passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, February 14th. Marie was born to Magnus and Gladys (Winden) Johnson in Monroe, Wisconsin. She met Larry Berger while working in Madison at the age of 21. Later that same year they were married and headed to California to start their life together. They were happily married for 51 years before he passed away in 2015. Together they ran their company, Electro-Chemical Devices, Inc. (1979-2007), raised their family, sailed in their boat, Mai Toi, and traveled around the country and the world. Since then, she has continued to travel, including attending Austin and Tori's wedding in Ireland last year. She especially loved playing with her great-grandchildren and a good game of Euchre.

Marie is survived by her sister, Shirley Trotter; her three children, Kim Berger (husband Gary Brundage), Julie Simpkins, and Jerry Berger (wife Cathy); her grandchildren, Rick and Kira Brundage, Austin Simpkins and Kassidy O’Neal, and Jay Berger, Briana Pockett and Joshua Boudreau; and her four great grandchildren, Wren O’Neal, Leo and Kit Pockett, and Nathan Boudreau, who brought boundless happiness and joy into her life. Marie was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that we could ever ask for. She will forever remain in our hearts, and we miss her.
