He was born March 14, 1936, in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of late Edna and Michael Alu. He was the oldest of two siblings. On February 9th, 1958, he married Evalynn Jeanette Alu, who survives.
He served in the National Gaurd in the late 1950s and early 1960s. After finishing serving his time with the National Guard, he was employed as a restaurant manager for over 40 years working for Denny’s, Jojo’s, Acapulco, and also for Amtrak as the manager of the dining car.
He is preceded in death by parents Edna and Michael and sister Mary. He is survived by his wife, Evalynn Alu, brother Tom (Phyllis) and sons Mike (Katie) and Jeff, and grandchildren Jenny Heady (Jeremy), Ryan, Danny, Jamie, and great-grandson Caden Heady.
A service was held Friday at Rose Window Chapel at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, Orange, California. Burial took place at Fairhaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
