Patti spent her childhood in Belmont Shore, California with her mom and sister, Pam. She attended Wilson High School where she was a Bruinette. She loved to sing and go to the beach with her sister.
Patti met the love of her life, Frank, when he tripped her walking into a bar in 1964. He got her attention, and they danced the night away and never looked back. They wrote letters to each other for months while he was deployed. The two were married in November 1965 when Patti flew across the world to meet him in Tokyo, Japan while Frank, a US Marine Corps pilot, was on leave from the Vietnam War. She had never been out of California. They were married at the U.S. Embassy. It was a true love story that we all aspire to.
After several moves, they settled in Villa Park in 1976 where they lived together for 49 years. She loved her home that Frank designed and built as well as her “lake” view that she enjoyed every day. Patti worked for many years in her mother’s clothing store, Kandi Kanes, as a bookkeeper and store manager. It was more than just a job, it was family.
She was a champion bowler, avid sports fan, crossword puzzle expert, and Assistance League volunteer. She loved working with the children as a volunteer at the dental office. Above all else, she was most proud of her family. She was at every event celebrating success or consoling a loss. Everything was family… it was always family!
Patti immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her big smile, beautiful hair, and bubbly personality. Everyone left a conversation with Patti thinking they were her best friend. She loved her friends and family and filled her home with warmth and kindness.
Patti will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 59 years, Frank Bryant and children, Craig Bryant and his wife Sandra, Kandi Jackson and Kelly Bladow and her husband David in addition to her grandchildren who loved her deeply – Ally, Carson, Cody, Kameron, Bryant, Payton and Parker. She is also survived by her dear sister, Pam Doll and her husband Ed as well as her lifelong best friend, Sandi Poirot and her husband Joe.
Patti's loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and kindness in those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life for Patti will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana. Those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate her life are welcome.
