Robert Samuel Wright

Robert Samuel Wright, age 94 of Santa Ana, CA died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the home of his son, Kenneth Alan Wright. Mr. Wright was born, April 3, 1923, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Robert Elnathan Wright and Mary Jessie (Gott) Wright. Mr. Wright joined the United States Navy and served during world war two. In 1948 he was united in marriage to Lois Elaine Zoring. In 1971 he was united in marriage to Margaret Ann (Higgs) Tomblin. He graduated from The University of IL with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and later earned a Master’s Degree from the University of CA Berkley, specializing in soil engineering and geology. Robert was an accomplished musician paying the Bass Fiddle, which he enjoyed playing most of his adult life. He also enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world. Mr. Wright is survived by three sons, Robert Wright of Santa Cruz, CA; David Wright of Walnut Creek CA; Kenneth (Cathy) Wright of Weimar, CA; one stepson Thomas Tomblin of Santa Ana, CA; one stepdaughter Linda (Richard) Wright of Pasco, WA; one grandson, fifteen step grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren; two brothers David Wright of San Diego, CA; and Edward Wright of Sacramento, CA. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, his step daughter Jane and step son Mark (Marie) Tomblin.
