Ronald John Channels II, a cherished, adventurous, kind-hearted, wise, resilient, hard-working, devoted, generous, beloved, and humorous individual, passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 57. Ron was a resident of Orange, California. He was born on December 25, 1967.
Ron graduated from Costa Mesa High School in the class of 1985 and pursued further education at Orange Coast College. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Cal State Dominguez Hills.
In his early career, Ron worked as a fraud analyst for Sprint. In 2002, he found his passion in commercial real estate, becoming a top producer at all the companies he worked for. He was employed by Curtis & Associates and, three years ago, joined NAI Capital, where he was beloved by his colleagues.
Ron met Marci on February 25, 2012, at the Lazy Dog Cafe in Irvine, CA. They became engaged on June 22, 2013, and were married on October 9, 2020, at the Honda Center.
He was an avid enthusiast of off-road adventures, founding the Off Road Overland Camping Facebook group in 2014, which now boasts over 3,000 international members. Ron organized monthly camping trips and mapped trails for exploration. In 2020, he launched his Off Road Overland Camping YouTube Channel, gaining 1,100 subscribers. He was affectionately known as the Huell Howser of Off-Roading. Additionally, he was a Harley motorcycle rider and enjoyed rides to Sturgis, Idaho, Las Vegas, Yuma, and Phoenix. Prior to this, he was an avid mountain biker, participating in a significant race in Mexico.
A third-degree Mason, Ron was very thoughtful and always eager to help others. He was skilled in finance and matchmaking, having paired off ten couples who went on to marry. His humor, honesty, and kindness were evident in every interaction.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Channels; his father, Ronald John Channels; his mother, Dianne Twete Channels; his sister, Susan Gyor; his brother, Wilbur Channels; and his sisters Laquita Twete and Sylvia Channels.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on April 16, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fairhaven Memorial Park, located at 1702 Fairhaven Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
In the words of John 13:34-35, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Ronald will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by his wife, Marci, for the unconditional love he gave her.
