Rudy and I worked together for the County of Orange. He was a great friend and mentor. Even in difficult situations he could always put a smile on my face and I’ll miss him. 

We have lost an icon and hero to the El Modena Barrio.  Rudy was a life long activist on social justice issues. Rudy was passionate to bring change to the poverty area of El Modena. Rudy dedicated his life starting in the 1960-2022. Rudy was chairman of the El Modena Service committee that provided social services to the El Modena barrio. He was appointed to the City of Orange Parks and Recreation commission and the Orange Public Library. Rudy was also Chairman of the Lorenzo Ramirez committee and was instrumental in renaming the El Modena High School and Santiago Canyon College Libraries in honor of the civil rights hero who sued the El Modeno School District in the 1940s and was part of the Mendez et al, v. Westminster School District lawsuit that ended Mexican Schools in Orange County. 
I have lost a friend. Rest in peace.
