Chapman, Ryan Michael, age 53, passed away quietly at his home in Costa Mesa California on Friday May 30th, 2025 after a short illness. He was born on January 28th, 1972 in Santa Ana California to Michael & Linda Chapman.
Ryan is survived by family and friends, including his father, Michael Chapman, brothers, Joel, Christopher and Sean, sister Allyson, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Annette and Uncle Keith, friends, Ashley, Brooke and many, many more (too many to list).
Ryan is preceded in death by his Uncle Jeff, Grandma and Grandpa, and Nana and Papa. And many others.
Ryan spent his early years growing up in Santa Ana. In addition to his parents and siblings at home, he enjoyed spending time visiting his grandparents, Uncle and Aunt. After graduating from high school, Ryan enlisted in the Marines and was stationed in Virginia. Like his grandfather, Ryan was a very proud Marine. He earned several commendations, including a badge as a rifle expert. After returning to California, Ryan lived in several Southern California communities, finally settling in Costa Mesa.
"Ryan was the kind of soul you don't come across often. A free spirit. He lived life the way he wanted, never without a smile and made every moment count. A son. A brother. A nephew. A grandson. An Uncle. A Marine. A friend. And occasionally annoying as hell...but that's what big brothers are for," says little brother, Sean.
Ryan had a natural artistic talent and often created interesting and expressive drawings and paintings. He also had a habit of painting just about anything “camouflage” colors.
Ryans death has had a big impact on the lives of the people that he knew and loved.
Know that Ryan is looking down on us from heaven and whenever You see something painted “camo” colors that you weren’t expecting,… that is Ryan saying “hi”.
