Alda was born in Santa Cruz, Madeira Island, Portugal to her loving parents João and Augusta Sousa. It was there where she married the love of her life Agostinho Marques in 1951. The couple later moved to Brazil where both their sons were born. Later immigrating to Santa Clara in 1966, she lived a happy and healthy life for her remaining 49 years before finally succumbing to cancer. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister Laura, and is survived by her husband of 64 years, her sons Adilson and Agostinho, her sisters Beatriz, Elizabeth, Inez, and Phyllis, 4 grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5-9PM with Rosary at 7PM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11AM at St. Clare Parish, 941 Lexington St, Santa Clara. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara.
