He left San Martin de Bolanos, Mexico on the back of a mule at 7 years old. He was a sharecropper on the Stanford Farm, a gold miner in the Sierras and a welder of war ships in San Francisco. He moved to the small farming town of San Jose in 1944; earned his B.A.; worked as a business Manager for Ampex Corp. and retired after 30 years. He was married to his bride Mary Helen for 71 years; raised and educated 3 kids, Fred, Raymond and Elaine; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Elizabeth and Katherine; and 4 great-grandchildren. He lifted them. He lived in his 98th year. Friends are invited to Visit Sunday, May 6 from 3 to 5pm with Prayers at 4:00 at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 7 at 11 am at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1576 Curtner Ave. in San Jose. Interment will follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
