

On Friday, November 29th, Antonio Maimone died of Alzheimer's. Antonio was born in Messina, Sicily, and was raised in Terme Vigliatore. He left Sicily in the 1950s to begin his painting career and seek a better life in France. When he returned to Sicily in 1957 to see relatives, he met his beloved Domenica Arcoraci at a celebration in her hometown of Tripi. After getting married in Tripi in 1959, they returned to Gap, France, where they had their first son, Eric, and three years later their second son, Joseph. They relocated to San Jose, California, in 1971 in order to provide a better life for his family, where they were met with countless opportunities. He was a master painter and passionate about helping others. Eric and Joseph, Antonio's sons, are his surviving children. In addition, his brother Giovanni Maimone and sister-in-law Rosaria Avena survive him. Antoinette Maimone, his granddaughter, Theresa Maimone, his daughter-in-law, and his great-grandchildren Xavier, Domenica, and Giovani. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will miss his enduring smile and tender disposition. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday December 17th, 2024, from 5-8PM with Rosary beginning at 6PM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara where the Funeral Service will also be held on Wednesday December 18th, 2024, at 11:00AM. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery across the street at 12:30PM.
