Augustine Lira is now with God in his final resting place. He passed away on February 15, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Santa Paula, CA in 1933, he was the youngest of 8. He moved to San Jose in 1945 with his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years and love of his life, Gloria Lira (Maldonado), his children, Lisa Lira, Steven Lira (Alisa Lira), Valerie Wilson (David Wilson), Michelle Armenta (Marcos Armenta) and his grandchildren, Andrew and Serena Wilson, Madison and Samantha Lira. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with his family at his cabin. His favorite past times included playing poker, camping, fishing, and watching Bay Area sport teams with his kids and grandchildren. Funeral Mass for Augustine will be held on Friday, March 11th, at 11:30 a.m., at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 4600 Hyland Ave., San Jose.
