

Clarence R. Schutt passed at age 86 on 09/23/2015 in San Jose, CA. Clarence was born on 1/3/1929 in the northeastern part of Nebraska near Sholes on a 160 acre farm, the son of Rudolph and Edna Schutt.
Clarence's Mom moved to Norfolk Nebraska, when his Dad died in 1933. His Mom went to beauty school, and graduated one year later. She then moved the family to Randolph, NE., and opened her beauty shop. Clarence went to the first grade and his sister, Arlene, went to second grade in Randolph that year. He graduated from Randolph High school in 1946. He enjoyed life in Randolph. He was involved with swimming, bike riding, hiking, scouts, football, basketball and track. His football team only lost one game during his 4 years at Randolph High School.
He attended the University of Nebraska in the fall of 1946, and elected to join the College of Engineering. He worked 40 hrs. a week while he was at college to help pay for his college education. He enjoyed his years at Lincoln, and worked at odd jobs during the summer. He brought his first car in 1950. Clarence stared dating Betty Blizzard during college, and invited her to the Nebraska homecoming during his last year. He was surprised, when she attended his graduation in June 1951. After graduation he traveled to a job at Bendix Missile Division in Mishawaka, IN. (East of Chicago).
Clarence married Betty in Randolph on April 7, 1953, and they moved to Mishawka, IN. Their four children were born in Mishawaka. They moved to California in 1959 when he took a job at Lockheed Missile Division in Sunnyvale where he picked up the nickname Clancy.
They moved to a 4 bedroom house in the fall of 1960. In his free time, he enjoyed; fishing, camping (tent and trailer) and traveling. Clancy and Betty were able to visit all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Panama and Northern Europe. He worked at Lockheed for 31 years. He is survived by his wife Betty, his daughter Cathy (husband George Headley), son Tom (wife Suann), son Rick (wife Liz) and son Mart (wife Carol). They have 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
