

He was born on July 5, 1941 in San Jose, California. As a son of an Army officer Dave traveled throughout the United States with his family making their home on numerous Army bases. His brother Bob and he especially liked living in Monterey California playing on the high sand dunes at Fort Ord.
Arriving back in San Jose, California he attended Willow Glen High where he excelled in track holding a state title in the triple jump. From there, he went on the San Jose State University earning a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting. While working for a National Accounting firm he worked towards his CPA certificate and later worked with various high-tech and startup companies.
Dave enjoyed hours of reading and watching movies especially the classics from Tolkien to John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, and John Belushi. Baseball was also a lifelong passion. He enjoyed years of coaching his sons through little league and pony ball and attending San Francisco Giant games at the “Stick” to Oracle.
In retirement, Dave continued his lifelong thirst for learning exploration and travel. Dave and his wife Irene enjoyed international travel. They enjoyed numerous trips to Europe, visiting most of western Europe and parts of eastern Europe on their adventures.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, of 53 years, who he first met on a blind date while in college. He also leaves behind two sons, Ed and Brad along with their wives Michelle and Samantha and grandchildren Julian and Maxine
Friends and Family are invited to attend a celebration of Dave's life on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 12:00pm at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95050. Entombment immediately following at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
