Florentina Ruiz passed away peacefully May 24, 2013. She was 84 years old. Tina was born to Ventura and Maria Padilla in California, the third of their thirteen children. She cherished her role of wife, mother, auntie and Nina (godmother). She was the beloved mother to Daniel, Chris and Linda; Grandmother to Danielle, Melissa, Aaron, Clifford and Bryan; and Great-Grandmother to Christina, DeShawn and Aaron Jr. Florentina. She married the late Don Ruiz in 1946 and they spent 65 years together building a beautiful and loving home life in San Francisco and Sunnyvale. They enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and hosting family luaus. She worked at Citti's Florist in Santa Clara for 25 years. She is remembered as a dedicated and trustworthy employee, and generous and kind co-worker.
A Rosary Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 3rd. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10;00 a.m. at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1971 St. Lawrence Dr. in Santa Clara. Interment will follow in Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
