Resident of Campbell
Fred, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Fred epitomized the American dream. Born in Italy in 1921 he immigrated to America as a young boy where he spent his early years growing up as one of six children in Hartford, Connecticut. Fred served his country admirably in the U.S. Army in the European theater during World War II. After returning home in 1945 he married Lorraine Chiulli in 1947. Fred and Lorraine were married for 52 years and had two children. Fred owned and operated a service station in Connecticut for several years before packing his young family up and moving to San Jose, California in 1959. Once established in San Jose, Fred went into the general contracting business with his two brothers where they built hundreds of apartment buildings in the Santa Clara Valley. Eventually he went on to build and develop properties on his own as Lola Construction until he retired in the early 1980’s. Fred is survived by his children, Frederick A. Santacroce Jr. and Lauralyn Mazzuca and her husband John; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Lorraine, his brother Mario, and his sisters Elsa and Victoria. Fred was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Monday, September 23rd from 6 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Parish, 200 O’Connor Dr. in San Jose.
