George Richard Dias was granted his angel wings on Sunday May 13, 2018 after a valiant battle with Leukemia. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit and positive attitude.
George was born in San Jose and raised in Santa Clara. He graduated from Santa Clara High School (SC Panther Class of 1958). After serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, George started a 50+ year career with Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., retiring in 2003. In 1965 George married the love of his life, Leontina, and was a loving father to two sons, Richard and Robert. He worked two jobs most of his life to provide for his family, and loved spending time with them. In his spare time he enjoyed doing electrical work and carpentry for family and friends. He also enjoyed Portuguese Fiestas, Big Band Music, family get-togethers, and buffets!
George is survived by his loving wife, Leontina, devoted sons Richard and Robert, daughter-in-law Cheryl, and grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Elianna, and Fallon. He is also survived by his brother Manuel Dias, and sisters MaryAnn Eylar and Rosie Lawton, and preceded in death by mother Mary, father Manuel, and brothers Edward, Anthony, and Leonard. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 between 5-9 p.m. and rosary at 7 p.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, and funeral and burial services beginning on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Justin’s Church 2655 Homestead Rd, Santa Clara, and concluding at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
