lived with his parents John and Mary and his seven siblings. He and his family
moved to Hartford Connecticut, before he left to join the Navy. Herman always had
a dream to go see California. After his honorable discharge, he left Connecticut and
hitch hiked to California.
In California, Herman attended flight school and finished pilot training. With his
flight training and aircraft license, Herman was able to get a job at Flying Tigers as
an aircraft mechanic. Flying Tigers was acquired by Lockheed where Herman
continued his career for 38 years.
Pat and Herman met while vacationing in California, and were married 6 months
later. They took a 30 day honeymoon, where they traveled by car from Burbank to
Acapulco, Mexico.
Pat and Herman started their married life in California. They lived their first two years of marriage in Burbank, and in those first two years they had their first child, David. Shortly after, Herman transferred his job to the Bay Area. While in Santa Clara, they had their second child Wayne. After a short stint in
New Mexico, Herman was transferred back to Santa Clara and had their third child Karin. Herman and Pat lived in their Santa Clara home since 1961.
Herman will be dearly missed by his three kids, David, Wayne, and Karin, daughterin-
laws Arlette and Tamera, Son-in-law Mike, and his four grandkids, Marc, Katie,
Emme, and Gabi. Herman will also be missed by his three sisters, Gerry, Terry,
Florine, and brother Willie.
We would like to thank our family, friends, and neighbors for their love and support.
