Ivan G. Yount, Jr., January 25, 1937 – November 22, 2018, passed away at the age of 81 at his home in Morgan Hill with his loving wife of 37 years, Helen, by his side. Ivan was born in Irwin, Missouri and was raised in Missouri and Kansas. He is a graduate of Maple Hill High School in Kansas and the University of San Francisco. He served in the Navy for four years before settling in Sunnyvale many years before moving to Morgan Hill in 1987. He started working for Philco Ford in 1961 and retired with Lockheed/Loral as an electrical engineer. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 478 in Sunnyvale and was an active member at the Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church for several years. One of his pride and joys was his year-round vegetable garden. He was also an avid reader. Ivan and Helen enjoyed many cross-country road trips over the years.
In addition to his wife, Ivan is survived by his 104-year-old mother Ella Yount, his son Ivan Yount (Lisa), daughter Yvonne Jansen (Vincent), daughter Donna King Finigan, daughter Debbie Lohse (Jim) and son Dennis King (Donna). He is also survived by his sisters Deloris Stafford and Janice Bundy and his brother Roy Yount. Ivan was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Ivan G. Yount, Sr. and brother Paul.
Services will be held December 6, 2018 at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, at 11:30am. Reception to follow.
