My Parents were friends of your family and first cousins to J R Souza. They were Matt and Edna Souza from Los Banos. I am their youngest daughter. We were deeply sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. He was the nicest man and I remember him well.  We had so much fun up at J R’s ranch for his branding of the cattle when Cecelia was still alive. Lots of precious memories Joe was also a part of.  

Hi my name is Lori Souza Ingram.  I believe we are cousins to Joe.  My parents were Mateus and Edna Souza and we as a family attended many brandings up at Manuel J R Souza’s ranch.  My parents loved Joe and his wife.  My sisters and I loved to play while the women prepared the food in the house with beautiful Cecelia. I remember Joe’s daughters but do not recall your names.
We live in Los Banos and my grandfather and Manuel’s J R ‘s father were brothers so J R and my father were first cousins.  As young girls we played all the time with Patricia and Diane.  My parents and one sister are already deceased and it has been very hard for my oldest sister and I.
I wish to send our condolences to your family and tell you we remember Joe being a kind and gentle man.  I think the last time my mother and I saw him was at J R’s 80th birthday party at the Grove.
