John Jerome Figone

Feb 13, 1933 – April 22, 2017 resident of Santa Clara, CA. After a short battle with cancer, John passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. One of four siblings, John was born in San Francisco, CA to John Luis and Rose Marie Figone. John was a first generation Italian-American. A loving husband for 61 years he is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Michael (Pam), Ray (Maile), Dave, Chris (Michele), brother in-law Dennis and 7 amazing grandchildren John, Christina, Steven, Nicholas, Breanna, Nathan, and Meghan. He graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City. John was a veteran of the Korean War, whom served in the Army Corp of Engineers. He was a successful general building contractor and his interests included: partnerships in two motels, building and co-owning Southbay Materials with his son Ray. In addition, he often worked alongside his son Michael at Figone Construction. John was an avid volunteer for many worthy causes, including: St. Clare's School, St. Justin’s School, Archbishop Mitty High School, and Little People of America Organization.

John touched many lives over 84 years with his generosity, smile, and maintained his sense of humor all the way to the end. He always relished helping people and it didn’t matter who it was, what the weather was like, or time of day, you could count on him for anything.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a Rosary on Friday, April 28 at 7pm at Lima Mortuary 466 N Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050. Church Services will be Saturday, April 29 at 3pm St. Francis Cabrini 15325 Woodard Rd, San Jose, CA 95124.
