With peace, comfort and love surrounding her, Mary Candida Avila entered into her eternal home with our Lord while surrounded be her loving family at her side at the age of 91. She was born on January 16, 1923 in Stockton, California but was a long time resident of Santa Clara, a loving mother, aunt, and dear friend. Mary was retired from Libby's Cannery in Sunnyvale after 36 years of service where she worked in various roles. Preceded in dealth by her husband Joe Avila and son Edward Avila (Salinas). She is survived by her sisters Mary Grimes and Mary L. Rebelo, nephews Allen C. Grimes and Len Rebelo, nieces Rosemary Wills, Shirley Estrella, and Linda M Reinartz, brother-in-law Clell Grimes. All family, neighbors, and friend are invited to the Rosary held on Wed, April 2nd at 6:30 pm at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA. Mass will be held on Thurs, April 3rd at 11:30 am at St. Martin's Church, 593 Central Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. Following the Mass there will be a committal service at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
