

Raymond passed away peacefully at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family on October 23, 2024. He resided in his Santa Clara home for 58 years.
Born on September 8, 1933, in Upland, California to Soledad Alamillo and Anthony Adame, Raymond was the second child and had three brothers and two sisters: Ralph Banuelos (deceased), Michael Adame (deceased), Ysidro Adame (deceased), Mary Escobedo Ybarra (deceased) and his surviving sister Georgia Ybarra, his sister-in-law’s, Sookie Adame and Anna Marie Banuelos.
Raymond has 7 children, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He is survived by Sabrina Adame, mother of Manny (sp. Sandy), Maureen (sp. Eric), Matthew, Philip, and Steven. He was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle (sp. Rick) and Marie Theurich, the mother of his oldest daughter Pam.
A devout Catholic, Raymond attended mass at St. Justin Church.
He attended San Jose High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree and teaching credentials from San Jose State University. He taught 6th grade for over 41 years at J. W. Fair and Franklin McKinley Elementary in East San Jose.
Raymond was the proud owner of Saratoga Plaza Barbers along with his brother Mike Adame and longtime friend Ray Inouye. He was a barber for 60 years and retired from Santa Clara Barber Shop on May 5, 2021, at the age of 88. He also worked side-by-side with his nephew Andy Adame for 26 years and his niece Maria Adame for 24 years.
His biggest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid supporter of family athletic events and watched his grandchildren and family play many different sports.
Raymond was also an avid Bay Area sports fan, always cheering on the SF 49ers, Oakland Raiders, SF Giants, Oakland Athletics, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Sharks. In his youth, he was a Golden Glove boxing champion and enjoyed watching the fights on TV.
He has left his family and friends with precious memories and an amazing legacy that will be carried on for generations to come. His spirit and love for his family and friends and his love for animals will always be remembered.
