Known by many as Sweets, a name given to her by her grandchildren and lovingly used by many adults family and friends alike. She died the morning of Sept 7th after a 6 month battle with a chronic infection that had left her bedridden. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home, in her own bed, with her immediate family. She was 96 years old.
Terry met her husband Francis(Ted) Charron in Springfield Massachusetts where she was working in the armory during the war. They married on June 22, 1945 and made a home in Massachusetts for the first 8 years, where they had their 3 children, Susan, Ginger and Teddy. In 1953 Ted and Terry sold everything they had for $300. and flew to California with their 3 children on an invitation from his father to come and work in the family furniture store. The five of them soon rented a one bedroom, tiny house where they lived for several months until they saved up enough money to put a down payment on their first and only house where she lived until her death.
Terry was a doting mother, grandmother and great grandmother. From being a member of the PTA at every school her children attended, to attending every event, recital, performance, and celebration, Terry was present and always put her family first. Sweets or Sweeties as her great grandchildren called her, set the example for always following your heart and connecting with others. Terry went back to college in her 50’s and received an AA degree from West Valley College. Terry worked as a telephone operator until she retired and began volunteering at Kaiser Hospital. She loved socializing and meeting new people and was always the first one to welcome you into her home and family. She was mentally sharp, she could do any crossword puzzle, and active whether it as playing bingo, bowling, taking water aerobics at the senior center or just having lunch with friends, you were always welcome and loved when you were with her.

Because of the pandemic, we are able to have immediate family attend the funeral services. Next summer, for her birthday, we invite you to attend a big party in celebration of her life! She liked better than having her friends and family together enjoying themselves. She leaves a huge whole to fill but we can each carry her legacy with us and live with passion and love as she did!
For those of you who would like to give something now in her memory, instead of flowers she would have loved it as the family will, if you donate to her favorite charity: SAINT JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL. stjude.org
