It is with great sadness, that an era has ended. Vince, 93, passed away Tuesday in Palo Alto. He was born on St. Joseph’s Day to Rose and Joseph Catania in San Jose. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Roselane; brothers and sisters, Anthony Jangrus, Lena Stovall, Joseph Catania and Rose Zito. He is survived by his loving daughters Shirley of San Jose and Rosemary of Danville; sisters, Josephine Catania, Mary Cetani and Sister Cabrini Catania of Holy Family Convent; brother Sam Catania. Vince was a retired Carpenter and member of the Carpenters Union Local 405 for over 66 years, a WWII Veteran of the Army Combat Engineers, surviving the invasion of Africa. A beloved homing pigeon fancier, a member of the Santa Clara Valley Pigeon Club. A hobby he truly loved. His vegetable garden was a work of art. Friends and family are invited to a Rosary Vigil Wed. July 11 at 6:30pm with visita¬tion from 6 to 9pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd. The funeral will be Thurs. July 12 at 11am in the St. Clare Chapel in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. A special thank you to the Hospice of the Valley and the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital for all of their loving care and support.
