

Cleo Friddle, 82, of Santa Paula, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her home of 53 years surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oklahoma on October 5, 1933 and at a young age moved to Petaluma, CA for a short while and then on to Ventura where she graduated high school. The greatest years of her life were in Santa Paula, her final resting place. She was well known and loved by many in her small community and will be remembered for her kindness, grace and elegance.
She was an avid reader and loved to travel to new places. She was a Civil War buff and traveled to many of their battle fields. She was active over the years in many clubs including The California Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals, The American Society of Women Accountants, The Ebell Club, The San Buenaventura Women’s Club where she played Canasta and the Soroptimist International Club in Santa Paula and later on in Fillmore. She formed the first Women’s Club in Simi Valley. She was a wife, mother, business woman, bookkeeper, woman’s advocate and philanthropist.
Cleo is survived by her husband, Carl, of 64 years; daughters Kathrine (David) of Grover Beach, Carla of San Luis Obispo and son Charles (Christine) of Visalia; Grandchildren, Suzanne, Charlie, Nicholas, Scott and Kristin; Great grandchildren, James, Zoey and Aella.
Graveside services will be held at the Santa Paula Cemetery on Saturday, August 27th at 12:00 P.M. for family, friends and others whose lives Cleo touched. Donations may be made in her honor to the Santa Clara Valley Hospice, 133 North Mill Street, Santa Paula, CA 93060.
